Suzanne Kohlenberg is now in her fifth year of teaching for Tree of Life. She has a bachelor’s degree from Carroll College and has spent many years working in programs involving elementary education. She loves that Tree of Life is a parent cooperative school—this format really allows the teachers to get to know the families. Her favorite activities are singing, dancing and story reading. “Mrs. K.” lives in Shorewood with her husband, two daughters, and her dog, Chance. “We want your child’s first school experience to be fun and nurturing. There is a real sense of camaraderie here at Tree of Life—among the students and parents.”

Tracey Grabowski is a certified K-8 teacher, having received her teaching certificate in December 2004 from UWM. Teaching is a second career for Tracey. "I worked in retail as a buyer and a merchandise manager, but decided to return to school when my oldest child was approaching kindergarten. Teaching at Tree of Life has given me an opportunity to introduce toddlers to a learning environment in a safe, welcoming way." My philosophy in the Toddler room is: “I enjoy helping children develop emotionally as well as educationally through play and exploration, and the toddlers are always learning how to deal with challenge, frustration, and social skills."

As a condition of enrollment, parents are required to assist in the classroom. Responsibilities include providing a healthy beverage and snack, and assisting the teachers with planned activities. It’s a great opportunity to see your child in action. Additional volunteer opportunities may be determined by the Parent Board as needed.
